It's the 2016 Galactic Hot Dogs Calendar!

Hey everyone! Can you believe it's October already? Only three more months left in 2015. Holy smudge, how is 2016 just around the corner?!

That means the debut of my next print book is getting closer and closer -- it's scheduled for spring 2016! If that seems like a loooong time away to you (like it does to me), I've got something to fill up those empty months:

The 2016 Galactic Hot Dogs Wall Calendar!

It's chock full of full-color illustrations from my first book. Super awesomesauce!

Looks pretty sweet, right? You can get it online at a few different retailers. Just Google it -- you'll find it!

See ya next week,

Gah! The Wrecked Wrangler is after us!

Hey everyone! I can't believe it, but today I've got the second-to-last chapter of Galactic Hot Dogs: Book Two for you! It's complete crazytown that we're at the end of the book. It's totally flown by! Well, get ready for Chapter 25...

Galactic Hot Dogs: Book Two - Chapter 25 - Wrecked Wrangler

GAH! How the fuzz did the Wrangler survive the train crash? Well, somehow he did, and he's scarier than ever. Lucky us -- he has it in for Princess Dagger and me. Yikes!

Wrecked Wrangler from Galactic Hot Dogs: Book Two

The dude is indestructible, but Dags and I aren't. Neither are the circus creatures! Can we fend off the Wrangler one last time so we can be the awesome space superheroes we're meant to be? Find out in Chapter 25: Wrecked Wrangler!

One last thing for you today. This past Friday, GHD illustrator Rachel Maguire did a book signing at Blue Bunny Books and Toys in Dedham, Massachusetts, and she sent along a couple of cool pictures!

Rachel with bookstore owners (and brothers) Paul and Peter H. Reynolds!

Rachel speaks to the crowd of GHD fans!
So rad! Rachel told me she has a bunch more events coming up this summer, so I'll make sure I let you know about them. Max Brallier has a whole lot of tour stops, too! I'll keep you posted!

Have a super awesome day, everyone!

Galactic Hot Dogs at BookCon and a new chapter in GHD Book Two!

Hey you guys! This past weekend was this ridonkulously huge book conference on Earth called BookCon. I hear Galactic Hot Dogs was a huge hit with the kids there! Thousands of copies of my book were snatched up by adventure-digging, reading-loving humans. And Simon & Schuster, the company that published my book, even gave out hot dogs one afternoon:

Galactic Hot Dogs at BookCon 2015

Man, I shouldn't have shown Princess Dagger this picture. Now she wants to get me a human hot dog costume the next time we go to the Twin Suns Shopping Center. Dude. I am NOT wearing one of those things!!! But I am super psyched that kids were excited to read GHD!

Now it's time for our next chapter in Galactic Hot Dogs: Book Two:

Galactic Hot Dogs: Book Two - Chapter 17 - Brayer and Brother's Traveling Circus

So when the last chapter ended, things were looking up. Princess Dagger turned out to be okay and not only that, she rescued me and Humphree. Good stuff. But now what? We have to stop Crostini and Evil Queen Dagger's plan to build a mutated monster army. That means it's evil-fighting action time! But first? A pit stop for some special supplies... Check out what happens in Chapter 17: Brayer and Brother's Traveling Circus!

I'll see you guys on Wednesday! But first, one more picture from BookCon (well, a bunch of pictures):

Instagram pictures of Galactic Hot Dogs at BookCon 2015

These pics were all shared on Instagram. It's so awesome seeing all the excitement about GHD!

Get to know Max, Rachel, and Nichole, 'cause they rock!

Hey you guys! So I might have mentioned once or twice that Galactic Hot Dogs: Cosmoe's Wiener Getaway is now in bookstores everywhere. Obviously I'm super psyched about it. But you know who is way, WAY excited? The author and illustrators of the book!

Here's Max finding me and my book at his local Barnes & Noble:

Max Brallier and his book, Galactic Hot Dogs: Cosmoe's Wiener Getaway
Hey look! It's me at Barnes & Noble!
Oh, and Max Brallier, too.
And here is Rachel at a different Barnes & Noble. With me, of course.

Rachel Maguire - Galactic Hot Dogs illustrator
Rock on, Rachel!
When she visited another bookstore, Rachel drew a pic of me in a book for a fan!

Rachel Maguire draws Cosmoe from Galactic Hot Dogs!
Hey dudes! It's me!
Max, Rachel, and the other illustrator, Nichole, are ridonkulously awesome humans. Did you miss it when I interviewed them? Check out my convos with Max here and here, and with Rachel and Nichole too. You'll find out cool stuff like why they do what they do, their fave hot dog toppings, what pets they have, and other rad junk!

See you back here on Friday when we get into the next chapter of Galactic Hot Dogs: Book Two. It's called "Angry Revenge Moldy Pizza." Yes, really. You're gonna love it!

Hanging out with Jeff Kinney at his new bookstore!

Hey everyone! This week the Neon Wiener made its way back to Earth for a little pit stop. We needed to stock up on supplies, but the mega-cool reason we really came back was to visit a friend of mine at his new bookstore. Maybe you've heard of him -- Jeff Kinney?

Jeff Kinney and Cosmoe from Galactic Hot Dogs hang out at Jeff's new store, An Unlikely Story!
Helloooooo from Plainville, Massachusetts!
You probably know that Jeff is the author of the super-mega popular series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Plus he's the creator of Poptropica. And now he's a independent book seller, too! His new store is called An Unlikely Story and it's in Plainville, Massachusetts.

The place opens really soon, so Jeff asked me if I wanted to take a tour of it when I could make it back to Earth. And I was like, "Do hogtarians fly?!" And Jeff was like "Huh?" because of course he's never seen a hogtarian, which my tiny little Cosmoe brain forgot. So I said, "Um, YEAH I do!!!" And then a couple days later, me and Jeff were hanging out in his new store!

Cosmoe from Galactic Hot Dogs and Jeff Kinney hang out at Jeff's new store, An Unlikely Story!
Chillin' like ice cream fillin' at An Unlikely Story with Jeff!
And of course, An Unlikely Story has my new book, Galactic Hot Dogs: Cosmoe's Wiener Getaway!

Galactic Hot Dogs: Cosmoe's Wiener Getaway is available at An Unlikely Story in Plainville, Massachusetts
Check out this wicked cool letterpress table.
(Does "letterpress" mean "way original and awesome"?)
If you live anywhere near An Unlikely Story, you need to get your butt over there when it opens. You know, even if you don't live nearby, you should make a trip out there. I did, and it sure was worth it!

Okay, now for our next chapter in Galactic Hot Dogs: Book Two!

Galactic Hot Dogs: Book Two - Chapter 12 - An Army?

When we last left off, Princess Dagger was NOT happy about her fat space suit! I totally won that little argument. But things go from funny to super serious, super fast. We make a discovery that is completely, totally WAY bad news. And then another one. And another one! Read Chapter 12: An Army? to find out what's going on!

Time for me, Princess Dagger, and Humphree to decide where we're going to go next. We're all stocked up with hot dogs, so we have to get selling!

Have a rockin' weekend,
Cosmoe

Wow, these rad kids can draw!

Hey you guys! How's it going? Today I'm featuring some way-cool kids from Elk Grove Village, Illinois, here on the blog!

I have to tell you, one of my favorite things in the galaxy is seeing kids get psyched about Galactic Hot Dogs. I mean, I'm still kind of freaking out that I now have a real, hold-in-your-hands, actual book out there for people to buy. But then I see kids all crazy-excited about it...

And my tiny little Earth brain gets so happy, I can barely handle it.

My buddy, Max Brallier -- you know, the author of my book -- visited Rupley Elementary School a few days ago, and the kids gave him a galactically awesome welcome! Check out those amazing signs they made above, and this one of me and Princess Dagger!

Wow, those kids can draw! Max had a big crowd listening to him talk about Galactic Hot Dogs...

And then he met with kids in their classrooms to say hi and sign their books.

Max said he had such a great time and the kids were mega fun.

If you haven't bought your copy of Galactic Hot Dogs: Cosmoe's Wiener Getaway, what are you waiting for?! Find out where you can one and then get reading!

See ya later,
Cosmoe

When a toilet saves the day (and it's not what you're thinking)

Uggggh! What's that stench? Oh, right. The Neon Wiener is flying by GD9, General Krax's junk planet. Seriously, we are like millions of miles away and the stink is permeating our space craft. I guess that's what you get when you create a planet from trash. NASTY.

Speaking of disgusting odors, let's get into today's chapter of Galactic Hot Dogs: Book Two! Wait, what? Well, take a look at the cover and you'll get what I mean...

Galactic Hot Dogs: Book Two - Chapter 10 - The Toilet It Is

When we left off, it was a total destructified damage disaster!

Galactic Hot Dogs: Book Two - a lyanux monster on the loose!

Princess Dagger had blasted me with her ice ray gun by mistake as I was trying to defend the younglies tent full of kid aliens. I get freed from my frozen prison, and Humphree, Dags, and I end up running for our lives! How do we not get lanced by the lyanux? Well, it involves Goober, a toilet, and a tumble... Find out in Chapter 10: The Toilet It Is!

Oh, and just in case you hadn't heard for some reason, this week my print book, Galactic Hot Dogs: Cosmoe's Wiener Getaway debuted! To celebrate, I've got a whole bunch of cool GHD activities for you -- a word search, a maze, coloring sheets, and more. Just go to my website and click "fun stuff" at the top!

Have a great weekend, you guys!

Now in bookstores everywhere...

Galactic Hot Dogs: Cosmoe's Wiener Getaway

Hot smudge! Today's the day! It's finally here!

Galactic Hot Dogs: Cosmoe's Wiener Getaway is now for sale in bookstores everywhere and online, too! Me, Humphree, and Princess Dagger are having a shindig on the Neon Wiener to celebrate. CAKE FOR EVERYONE!

Cosmoe, Humphree, and Princess Dagger celebrate the launch of Galactic Hot Dogs: Cosmoe's Wiener Getaway!

Trust me, it totally does. Especially when downed with some Slurpo Soda!!!

The way-cool book people who are in charge of Cosmoe's Wiener Getaway told me that people everywhere are loving the book. How awesome is that?

Check out what Tomasz, age 9, has to say about it:

"This book is awesome. I would read it over and over again. If you like ‘Captain Underpants’ and comic strip books, you will probably love this!

I read this book over a couple of days as I couldn't put it down. This is one of the best books I have read this year. It's awesome! ... I am reading it again as it was so good ... This was space adventure at its very best and I can't wait for book number 2!"

And Cara, age 10:

"Galactic Hot Dogs is a very good book! It is very exciting ... I definitely recommend it to anyone, especially if you like comics -- it isn't a comic but it's a bit like one."

Thanks, Tomasz and Cara! I'm super psyched you liked it!

Okay, gotta run. Princess Dagger is pumping up the tunes, and we're having a little dance party. This is the best. I'm so happy, I could burst! Though that would be completely un-party like, so I won't. I'll just dance like the goofy space kid I am.

Later dudes,

"If you are a big fan of comic strips, then you will love this book, because virtually every page is full of amazing illustrations! ... I'm going to recommend we get a copy of this story in our school library and I can imagine there will be a long waiting list for it when word gets out about how much fun it is to read." -Ross, age 11

Now let's get to our new chapter of Galactic Hot Dogs: Book Two!

Galactic Hot Dogs: Book Two - Chapter 9 - Too Close for Comfort

So I thought I had this whole lyanux-taming thing under control. We were buds! Putting on an awesome show! But then the gizmo on the lyanux's head made her turn into a big freaking scary monster, and it's not just me who's in trouble -- it's everyone who's attending the circus. What's going to happen with a monster lyanux on the loose? Find out in Chapter 9: Too Close for Comfort!

Gotta go -- me and the GHD crew are getting ready for a big event tomorrow: We're having a party to celebrate the launch of Cosmoe's Wiener Getaway! Time to get stuff ready to rock!

Now of course I'M going to say awesome things about my new book, because Max did an amazing job writing it and Rachel and Nichole did a fantastic job illustrating it. But don't take it from me that the book totally rocks! Check this out:

Totally rockin' reviews of Galactic Hot Dogs: Cosmoe's Wiener Getaway!

"I have two middle schoolers at home. They both were very excited to read this book. My youngest said, 'You know Mom, I really like this book!' It's a keeper." -Tammy

"The story is entertaining and will be loved by kids into outer space adventure. Very quick read for adults, so not overpowering for children. And, the characters are quite engaging." -John

"This book was very funny, it made me laugh a lot. There were lots of interesting, well-drawn illustrations." - Alice, age 10

How freakin' rad are those reviews? I'm so psyched people are loving the book. I knew they would!

One last thing...

Max is going on a book tour! Check out where he'll be and if he's in your area, stop by and meet him! I heard more stops will be added to the tour, so check that link again later if you don't see a city near you.

Well, I gotta go. It's my turn to wash dishes, since Humps cooked and Dags cleaned up the hangout room. Even space kids who get books written about them still have chores to do. See you Friday!

Livin' in the lap of luxury - so far...

Hey everyone! Are you ready for the next chapter of Galactic Hot Dogs: Book 2? You're not going to believe the awesomeness that is the space circus!

Galactic Hot Dogs - Book 2 - Chapter 6 - All Aboard!

So we've up and joined the Cosmic Carnival and Wonder Circus, and it seems completely way cool. Crostini is treating us like kings and queens, and Princess Dagger and I are totally digging it! But Humphree seems a tad less enthusiastic, and he's got some questions... check out the all-new Chapter 6: All Aboard!

Before I go, I have one more thing to say: 12 DAYS until my amazeballs book, Galactic Hot Dogs: Cosmoe's Wiener Getaway, is in bookstores near you! You'll also be able to find it in schools' Scholastic Book fliers -- you know, those cool things teachers give out so kids can pick books for their parents to order? Look for this really soon:

Jeff Kinney gets psyched about Galactic Hot Dogs!

Hey you guys! Do you know who Jeff Kinney is? You probably do. He’s the author of the best-selling Wimpy Kid books and the creator of Poptropica. Did you know that the original Wimpy Kid book was actually first published on Funbrain.com, the online home of Galactic Hot Dogs Book One (and on 4/6, Book Two)? If you go to the Funbrain homepage, you’ll see both books there under “Books and Comics!”

Jeff is also about to be a bookseller, too — he’s opening a way-cool bookstore in May called An Unlikely Story. It’ll be in Plainville, Massachusetts. If you live anywhere near there, you should go check it out!

Anyway, the Galactic Hot Dogs book crew are obviously big fans of Jeff, so they made sure to send him a special GHD care package. He sent us a fun picture when he got it. I think he’s kinda psyched about the book!

Jeff Kinney and Galactic Hot Dogs

I hope you like my book as much as I like Galactic Hot Dogs Island on Poptropica, Jeff! Oh, and those Wimpy Kid books aren’t so bad, either. ;-)

And you guys, if you haven’t yet, definitely check out Jeff’s Wimpy Kid website for lots of cool stuff. It’s awesomesauce!

Have a great weekend,
Cosmoe

The first review of my upcoming print book is out!

It's the book cover for Galactic Hot Dogs: Cosmoe's Wiener Getaway!
Hey you guys! Did you know that some lucky grownups out there get to read books and write about them — for a job? They get paid to read. Book reviewers, they’re called. Can you imagine getting paid to do something fun?

Do you think someone would pay me to read books? Or maybe build with LEGOs? Or maybe memorize all the Star Wars movies? I’d be really good at that…

Oh, sorry, I got sidetracked there. Anyway, one of those book reviewer types works at Kirkus Reviews, and did the first official writeup about my upcoming real-deal, print book: Galactic Hot Dogs: Cosmoe’s Wiener Getaway! It hasn’t even come out yet — mark your calendars for May 5 — but the peeps at Kirkus are digging it:

“This highly illustrated story has something for every demographic, offering robots, zombies, hot dogs, a princess, video games and wrestlers. This is not a complete list.”

This Kirkus person says that my book has “snarky dialogue” (that’s a grownup way of saying we talk all cool and funny) and “terrific jokes.” Sweet! You can read the whole review for yourself. Weirdly, the reviewer isn’t totally into the fight scenes. How could you not be into THIS?!
Zombie space pirates from the free online book, Galactic Hot Dogs
Argh! Zombie space pirates!
But that’s okay. The reviewer wrote cool stuff about my book, and that’s awesome. And I’m super-psyched that the book comes out in 88 days! Wahooo!

See you back here tomorrow when we launch back into our reading marathon!

Later gator,
Cosmoe
