Lost art from book 2!

Hey everyone! The awesome illustrators of my books just put together a whole ton of lost Galactic Hot Dogs art for me, so of course I'm sharing some of it with all of you!

Check this out. It's a drawing from Galactic Hot Dogs: Book 2, chapter four.

I totally don't remember this happening. Probably because I got clobbered on the head? Just a wild guess!

More art to come!

Stay rad,
Cosmoe

It's a Galactic Hot Dogs artspolsion!

Hey you guys! How's it going? Me, Princess Dagger, and Humphree are on our way to Videogame Apocalypse! I haven't been back there since I won Black Hole Joystick Battle Heroes, back when I got the final slice of the map-o-sphere that led us to the Ultimate Evil. Remember?

Oh, yeah. This reigning champion is ready to defend his crown!!! But get this: This time all three of us get to compete! We're playing a new game called Interstellar Maze Madness. I'm just hoping that lame-o General Krax isn't there. That guy's so annoying.

Today I've got a total ARTSPLOSION for you. It's an explosion of art! Get it? Maybe? Anyway, first up I've got a couple cool "cut from Book Two" scenes for you from Chapter 13, when the crummy Wrangler sends Dagger floating off into space:

There is so much art that doesn't make it into the books, just because there isn't enough space for it all. I wish there was!

And here's some awesome fan art! This one is by Bryce, age 12:

And this one is by Jack, age unknown because I guess he likes to be a man of mystery:

Finally, I've got something I never thought I'd ever see: a knitted hot dog. For real!

Princess Dagger said she cannot get over its cuteness and she must have it NOW. Oooookay, Dags, I'll get right on that.

We're almost to Videogame Apocalypse--wish us luck! I'm ready to kick some alien butt!

Stay awesome,
Cosmoe

Awesome deleted art from Book Two!

Yeeeee-haw! Hello from the Wild and Crazy West! Since we made a ton of money on Space Port Funketoun last week, we're taking a little cowboy va-cay. The other day we went to a space rodeo, which was a total trip. Aliens lassoing enormous bull-like creatures called thorlings--what could go wrong? Everything!

At one point we thought we were in BIG trouble when a thorling got loose from its pen and there were two in the ring at once. One thorling is tough, but two? It looked like it could be a skorlax scenario all over again! But the alien lady who was in the ring totally rocked it and got the thorlings under control. Phew! I was ready to jump in and help if I had to, but I admit it: I'm glad I just got to watch this time!

So, you know how it's fun to see deleted scenes from movies you like? Parts of movies that were filmed but didn't make it into the movie for whatever reason? Well, I've got some deleted scenes from Galactic Hot Dogs: Book Two for you today! Here's some cool stuff that couldn't fit in the book...

A sad-faced me from chapter three:

Me, Princess Dagger, and Humphree at the circus in chapter three:

And the skorlax kicking my butt in chapter five!

Pretty rad, huh? I wish there was room for all the awesome art the book illustrators create, but at the same time, it feels kind of special seeing this behind-the-scenes stuff.

Gotta go now. We're going ganzelle riding. They're a little like horses, but a little like giraffes, too. It's going to be awesomesauce! See you here Friday for our next chapter in Book Two: All Aboard!

Later gators,

Way cool bonus art from chapter one of Book Two!

Hey you guys! Wasn't the first chapter of the newest Galactic Hot Dogs book awesomesauce? Are you psyched to see what happens with Crostini's Cosmic Carnival and Wonder Circus? Chapter two is coming your way on Friday!

Until then, I have something cool to show you. I've got this rad art that was cut from the first chapter of Book Two. While creating art for the book, the illustrators come up with lots of stuff that is totally awesome, but just ends up not fitting in. Check this out:

Galactic Hot Dogs art cut from book 2 chapter 1

Dags is a little bummed her line got cut and maybe you are too, but don't worry. She's all over this book, big time!

Okay, I'll see you guys back here on Friday. The Princess is dragging Humphree and me back to the Twin Suns Shopping Center. Something about new shoes. Uggggggh. But Dags did say she heard a rumor on Intergalatic Social Space that there is an American-themed diner at the mall now. I'm hoping that means real cheeseburgers! How totally ridic would that be?!

See ya later,

What’s really in Humphree’s hot hot sauce?

Hey everyone! Today I’ve got some more cool F.R.E.D. facts that couldn’t fit in the GHD print book (coming to a bookstore near you on May 5!). The book’s illustrators came up with so much new art for the book, it couldn’t all fit. So that means I’ve got more never-seen-before stuff for you! Check these out:

Cool, huh? Though maybe you didn’t really want to know what’s in Humphree’s hot hot sauce…

Oh, and don’t forget: Galactic Hot Dogs Book Two debuts online on Monday, April 6! Every Monday and Friday I’ll do a little post on the chapter of the day (which you’ll find on Funbrain.com, just like Book One). On Wednesdays I’ll have all sorts of awesome junk for you, like behind the scenes art, fan art, and more!

Tomorrow I’ll have one more sneak peek into Book Two (the first one is here) — artwork and some hints about our adventures!

See you tomorrow,
Cosmoe

Surf’s up - and what the heck are F.R.E.D. facts?

Helloooooo from the ridonkulously awesome planet Waalio!

This week the GHD crew is soaking up the sun and learning to surf. A five-legged alien named Zooktar is teaching us some way-cool surfing moves. Well, she’s trying to teach us. We’re pretty awful. But it’s super fun falling off our boards into the clear green water! Humphree looks especially goofy trying to surf. The big Bronkle is having a tough time staying upright, but I give the dude credit — he keeps on trying!

So this week on the blog I’ve got some coolio stuff for you. I convinced the GHD book people to give me some more art that didn’t make the print version of Book One (Cosmoe’s Wiener Getaway) that comes out in bookstores May 5.

The print book features lots of awesome artwork that isn’t in the online version of the book, including something called F.R.E.D. facts. They’re basically fun little information nuggets, brought to you by the best robot ever.

Well, guess what? I’ve got some extra F.R.E.D. facts for you! Check these out:

Galatic Hot Dogs FRED fact - MWWF ArenaGalatic Hot Dogs FRED fact - mutant worms

Obviously these would have appeared in the mutant worm wrestling chapters. I guess Dags and Humphree were lucky not to turn into mutant worm food, huh? And who would ever eat a mutant worm tail on purpose?! GROSS!

See ya later,

What does hot hot sauce have to do with The Ultimate Evil?

Hey everyone. I'm gonna be brief today because oh man, I think I ate too many s'mores yesterday. Today I am one sick space dude. My stomach is revolting like that time I tried raw arakzid legs doused with Humphree's hot hot sauce. Not good, people. Not. Good.

Speaking of Humphree's hot hot sauce, it's going to be a key player in how we defeat The Ultimate Evil. How are we going to do it? And why is that lame-o Krax shooting at us when we're trying to save the galaxy? Check out Chapter 23: Epic Space Battle Hour to find out how the heck we're going to get rid of this:

The Ultimate Evil from Galactic Hot Dogs

And now let's get into...

This is our last DJ Zee Zee Jak scene, and it would have appeared in the book right about now:

DJ ZeeZee Jak from Galactic Hot Dogs 4

That DJ dude isn't always my favorite but at least he gave me props for being right about The Ultimate Evil!

Since this art was never finalized, it's not 100% perfect -- and I see an oops. Do you see the missing word? What word would you fill in?

Okay you guys. It's back to bed to me. Cosmoe the Earth-Boy signing off until next time, when hopefully my stomach will be back to full strength!

Stay awesome,
Cosmoe

How do I get out of a real cliffhanger?!

Galatic Hot Dogs - Chapter 22 - Crack!
Hey everyone! I’m writing to you from our camping tent on Xtar 9. It’s a warm planet that’s covered with forests. The trees are ginormous — like those redwood trees in California. The tree trunks are bigger than our ship!

The Princess has never been camping and she is totally digging the whole experience. Oh, and you know how lots of Earth people are scared of bugs? Well, Dags sure isn't an Earthling because she's the total opposite of scared. She’s wondering which ones could make good hot dog toppings. Barf! But Humphree agrees, ‘cause aliens like that stuff. I’ll stick to ketchup and mustard, thanks.

Anyway, today’s reading marathon chapter is mega action-packed. How could it not be, when the last chapter ended with a real cliffhanger?! Obviously I got out of that situation, since I’m here writing to you… but who rescued me? And what did The Ultimate Evil actually turn out to be? Go find out now in Chapter 22: Crack!

And now for…

Here’s a new DJ Zee Zee Jak scene!

DJ Zee Zee Jak from Galactic Hot Dogs.

When I saw this I was like, what the fuzz, dude? Earthlings do not “cry, cry, cry” about everything. And obviously I’m the type of Earth kid who marches forward and fights space jerks in all their many forms. That’s my thing! And anyway, I’d like to see that bearded, multi-armed Zee Zee Jak take on The Ultimate Evil like this space kid and his crew did. Never gonna happen, I’ll tell you that!

See you back here tomorrow — I’ve got something fun for you on the blog!

Stay awesome,
Cosmoe

Confronting the Daggers—and The Ultimate Evil!

Galactic Hot Dogs: Chapter 21: Descent
Aw, smudge, you guys. I totally wiped out while I was ice boarding on Moorg’s mountains yesterday. I twisted up my ankle real good. The aliens on Moorg have a great hospital and super amazing technology, so they were able to pretty much zap away the sprain. But they couldn't zap away how dumb I felt after my boarding blow up. I think I’ll just chill out with my hot cocoa on the ship today while Dags and Humps go ice fishing. Sigh.

Let’s get into one of my all-time favorite chapters: Chapter 21: Descent! I was burning mad when we touched down on the big, empty, evil planet. I was ready to give those crummy Daggers a piece of my mind — but I wasn’t ready for what happened next! Check out the chapter and see the mess I end up in!

And of course, here’s today’s…

Here’s the next DJ Zee Zee Jak scene that got cut from the book:

DJ Zee Zee Jak from Galactic Hot Dogs

Cool, huh? I have to admit, I wasn’t too bummed out that Kaff Fiend got taken out by a space shark. That dude was bad news and totally had it in for me!

All right, you guys, have an awesome weekend. We’ll be leaving Moorg soon for a nice, warm planet called Xtar 9. Lots of trees. Reminds me of Endor, the Ewoks’ forest moon in Star Wars. We’re going camping — can’t wait for the Princess to experience tent living!

From betrayed to mad to spooked!

Galactic Hot Dogs: Chapter 20
Hello from ice Planet Moorg! What a super cool place this is. Everything is covered in fresh snow that tastes like candy! The aliens who live here are used to it, but Humps, Dags, and I can't stop eating the sweet stuff. And yesterday we got to go ice boarding. It's like snowboarding, but on ice-covered mountains, and your board just barely skims the surface while you kind of control it with a remote in each hand. It's way cool!

Okay, reading marathon time! In the last chapter, the GHD crew was having a pretty rough time. I was feeling big-time betrayed by the Princess, Humphree was trying to rally me, and poor F.R.E.D. got fried. Things were looking bleak, dudes. Really bleak. Can I pull it together? Will F.R.E.D. recover? And what does The Ultimate Evil have in store for us? Find out in Chapter 20: Destination Ultimate Evil!

And now let's get into...

I had to get special permission from the book people to show you today's awesomeness. This is one of the pieces of art that got cut from the print book. Even though it's totally rad, they couldn't fit every single thing into the book. Just not enough room, you know? But now I get to show it to you! Meet DJ Zee Zee Jak:

DJ Zee Zee Jak is the most popular DJ in the galaxy. Aliens totally love him, but I think he's annoying. I mean, the dude totally amplified my broadcast mess-up about "the map to the most amazing treasure of all time" to the entire galaxy! What a fuzz head. Anyway, the art is super cool, and I have three more DJ Zee Zee Jak thingies coming your way in the next week or so!

Okay, people, I gotta run. The hot dogs are ready to serve up to all the goofy, hungry aliens waiting in line. Tomorrow I'll have part two of my Rachel interview! You can check out part one here if you missed it.

See you then,
Cosmoe
