Hey you guys! Did you know that some lucky grownups out there get to read books and write about them — for a job? They get paid to read. Book reviewers, they’re called. Can you imagine getting paid to do something fun?
Do you think someone would pay me to read books? Or maybe build with LEGOs? Or maybe memorize all the Star Wars movies? I’d be really good at that…
Oh, sorry, I got sidetracked there. Anyway, one of those book reviewer types works at Kirkus Reviews, and did the first official writeup about my upcoming real-deal, print book: Galactic Hot Dogs: Cosmoe’s Wiener Getaway! It hasn’t even come out yet — mark your calendars for May 5 — but the peeps at Kirkus are digging it:
“This highly illustrated story has something for every demographic, offering robots, zombies, hot dogs, a princess, video games and wrestlers. This is not a complete list.”
This Kirkus person says that my book has “snarky dialogue” (that’s a grownup way of saying we talk all cool and funny) and “terrific jokes.” Sweet! You can read the whole review for yourself. Weirdly, the reviewer isn’t totally into the fight scenes. How could you not be into THIS?!
Argh! Zombie space pirates! |
But that’s okay. The reviewer wrote cool stuff about my book, and that’s awesome. And I’m super-psyched that the book comes out in 88 days! Wahooo!
See you back here tomorrow when we launch back into our reading marathon!
Later gator,
Cosmoe
